Being Positive!

Miseries, failures, disappointment, distress are faced by all of us at some point of time in our lives. Mostly everyone look outside for the reason of their own failures but nobody understands that the answer lies within yourself. Are you also one of those who look to the outside world to solve your problems?

Challenges, difficult situation are a part of our lives. Almost everyone has to face some problem during their lifetime. Some take the challenges with a fighting spirit while others loose the battle before even trying.

Today I was reading the story of a courageous person who met with an accident few years ago and lost his legs. He had a weak body with metal prosthesis all over, but a strong mind which helped him recover after an year’s time. A big salute to such people’s spirit which makes them alive and to move on in their life. Most importantly, not with the grudges but with a stronger spirit and vision in their life which makes them successful in their personal and professional life.

The story of exreme pain showing a person’s strength, willingness to live his life, determination, inner strength and courage has left me with a thought. A thought that Problems can be big or small, only thing which matters is the way to deal with them. Should we allow them to overrule us and make our life miserable or we fight back and remain happy. If you look around yourself, you will find many people whose plate is not as full as yours but still they are happily living their life. What makes them content with even few things in their life vis a vis those people who are born with silver spoon but still struggle and live their lives without any reason. They are not satisfied, have grudges and bad feeling for others which makes their own life miserable. Why? What could be the reason?

It is only about the approach we want to follow and the attitude which allows you to search for positivity in every single situation in the life. All is in our hands. There are two ways to handle a situation, first and the most easy way is to cry, blame others, constantly thinking and feeling the pain. The other and the difficult way is to learn to forgive, forget and to live your life with a courage & determination with a direction to move ahead.

Out of these two paths, ‘we’ and we are the only ones who has to choose between either of them. We can spend our lives with either of the options we choose to live with.

Time never stops for anyone, situations comes and leave us with pain and problems can come back again. But we have to be strong enough to choose second option to handle the situations in a positive manner and make our life easy and meaningful.

Life is only given once, let’s not waste the time we have been given. There is no second chance to it. Enjoy life, fulfill your aspirations, and leave the pain behind. It will be altogether a new world for us all!

Cultural Diversity

Have you ever had a dream that one day you will wake up and you will be a different person? You may speak French or for that matter German and your country and your accent would be different, Will you be in shock??  Hard to imagine?

The reason I mentioned this is to understand why diversity, adaptability towards it is so important in our lives?

Is it built by ourselves or may be the changing scenarios?

In today’s world we are dealing with people from different cultures, interact with them, learn and somewhere go along very well. We meet them during professional meets, personal interactions and where not. In fact India itself has diverse culture. Person sitting next to you may be from different state having different thinking, native language etc

Nowadays cities are also converting into culturally diverse places where a person from across the country or outside comes for work, for education, after marriage. People from towns are moving to the Metros and they adapt the Metro cultures and live their entire life in there.

So actually there is no single culture exists within the world, A cultural mix, diversity has overruled any one culture.

What could be the reason  that people have become so flexible to adapt to the person’s need sitting next to him? Why are people following an easy approach for accepting the other culture? It’s all because people are now use to working with people across the world, across different cultures. It is all because they have got the glimpse of living in a updated environment, which gives them competitive edge while interacting with them, giving a comfort level  while working. It Improves relations and motivate people to work effectively.

Imagine you go for your meeting with a person with a different culture, what would you think you will be doing before the meeting?

Nothing or may be a quick research??

Quick research helps you to predict the behavior of the meeting party, what do they like , what they don’t, because as always said Breaking the Ice is very difficult but how you can break it is the important point here. May be by talking about him, understanding him with a little background from what you have researched.

And Now adaptability towards different culture has been our natural behavior. Have you ever realized that knowingly or unknowingly we are adapting the cultures we see around, and it has really become important in today’s world. The more you adapt , more you learn, more you feel comfortable and  Nothing is good or bad in this world to adapt. Its individual’s own perspective to differentiate.Infact our children are more flexible than our generation because they have seen us adapting and following a easy going approach to new things.

In today’s scenario where people are only rushing and have no time to sit back and realize that we have come a long way leaving behind the stubborn approach & mindsets. Its time to feel proud and realize that there is a lot of acceptance which has come in us which helps us , our country to work better and that’s where you say “ We are Global!!!!!”

The Suffering Avatar of Females!

Sita the sufferer,  A state of mind very well explained in Apurva purohit’s book “ Lady, you are not a man” . I heard somewhere today that one of the young girls tried to pull a seat from the elder one because the seat was reserved for ladies. I get to see lot of similar embarrassing situations in which female indulge them without even thinking once.

Why do females always try to take advantage by showcasing themselves as the “Poor”, “inferior”, “sufferer” and “confused”. Why do they need to do show these kind of behaviours? Why cant they face the situation as other gender do. What is it which stops them in doing that?

We as females have been seen as misusing the rights provided to us at the public places, public transportation, and offices though and where not, and misusing for many years has made the female reputation as of Sita, the sufferer.

We need reservations in metro, buses, complexes, car parking, offices but we need to understand this is all for our growth and not to exploit these selfishly!

Females today are smart, intelligent, running shoulder to shoulder with the other gender and most important has their own identity! Imagine a female coming  out of a corporate office, rushing at the bus stop and asking a male to give her the seat. Its horrible! The intelligence, smartness vanishes and we become selfish without even thinking of others.

A handful of those who are doing this are shaming other females because we exist in the same world!

Becoming Sita and misusing the powers given to us are leading this community nowhere.

Why Is the question here and what is the need?

We have been running and running and trying to create short cuts for ourself, It’s all in our mind. Whenever you see a difficult and an easy path, its human tendency to follow the easy one. But think what are you projecting yourself as? As an inferior community who is always in search of the easy path where less effort is required and sometimes in that path we even ignore others who needs genuine help from all of us like our elders, children, disabled and pregnant females.

Stand up for yourself, don’t let yourself get trapped in embarrassing situation. Work hard and be honest and help others! Get the feeling of honesty back into our lives and be a role model for the people around us!

Women Networking!

Women Networking!! It is though very important but how many of us really do that??

Nowadays it has become so important for your own growth, your loved one’s growth including your children, and most of all it has become a requirement to stabilize and sustain in this competitive environment!!

Networking doesn’t come naturally to females, this trait is somehow doesn’t come from within. We struggle to acquire this trait and least bothered to acquire. There is a big WHY to it.

Right from the old times, females were never seen as a primary member of the house; they have always been a support who had to stay within boundaries and is not responsible or even bothered about her own growth. She was contained in her own small world because she never explored the new prospects of life and was never guided, or for that matter no one ever thought that they can compete with the rest of the world, can make their identity too!

Slowly this feeling inculcated into the female generation and we have to accept that it has come in all of the females today. Inherited!

If I ask women a question “ Why don’t you network as men do”??she might give these  answers :

 “I have no time”

“I am not bothered”

“Will it help?”

“I want to focus on my  home”

“I will not be able to give time to my kids & husband ”

“What if I network?”

??? Don’t we think too much, do we really have so much in our head?

We as female have to struggle to network because we have taken so much on our head willingly that we hardly have time to think about ourselves, think about the benefits.

Another aspect is we are not aggressive  enough for our growth. We get satisfied with regular growth pattern and keep ourselves happy by thinking that we are doing a great balance. We lose our thinking power and make ourself secluded but within our own world! But THINK Is this what we want to do?

As Sheryl Sandberg very rightly said “ Don’t leave before you actually leave”. If you are working, never stop thinking about your growth, if you are a mom, never stop thinking the ways you can do wonders for your children. Do not ASSUME that you cannot do , don’t run until you really are out  from that situation! Face it!

Now the question comes, how can we do it?Can we females bring the change by having advatage of being in the same situation? Can we motivate and help others to move forward? Yes, why not?

Thankfully  many of the females have taken a step forward to help things change, and we can see a ray of sun hoping that it will change soon! Many  of us are changing and bringing a change in others too. Lot of networking groups are formed encouraging females from different domain to get together and connect.

Remember others can help but we are the only ones primarily to help ourselves!

we are solely responsible to bring ourselves our talent and growth by motivating ourselves, by networking, by following a “never lgive up approach,” and  believe that this can happen!

Strive for it, aspire to grow, change your mindset and most important DO IT!

A modern shameless way of exploitation- An unforgettable experience

On a Monday morning, I and my HD went to buy a coffee at one of the Delhi markets. We stopped our car little away from the shop and noticed a little girl approximately 10 yrs of age, approaching to us. She was wearing school uniform, with neatly tied hair and holding some papers in her hand.

We both looked at her and could see that she is coming towards us but could not judge the purpose. she came and opened the driver side door and said “ Good Morning”. Before we react, She again said “Please help me” by showing the papers in her hand. When we did not reply , she stared explaining us in her language the exact purpose!!

She told that she needs the money and asked us to support her education by paying her the school fee. A paper she was holding was having the complete data, an appealing letter, some notes and the amount to be paid.

We somehow knew, this could be a part of some child racket and the child was being used by the same people to earn money, so we politely said her “No” , we will not be able to help you!!

After listening to “No”, she tried to get in our car and used her local language to convince us. When we did not respond to the little child, she left the place thinking it’s a waste of time and start dancing and moving towards the other side.. May be in search of the other customer!!

Whole way back ,I was thinking how people could be so ruthless who see children as a medium to make money. The child was being used to find the customers, without even knowing the reason behind her actions !!She was a puppet being used by some ruthless people to earn the money.

This would probably be the new strategy which people must have thought to be used. Training th children to speak their initial lines English (just two lines) to get the attention of the customers and pledge to pay their fee.

I feel ashamed to be a part of this world where children and females aren’t given the respect and attention they deserve. When will the mindset of the people change? How many more years should we wait to change this mindset.. What can we do about it? Every person adds a value, everyone of us should do something to eliminate these dark elements from the society, But the question here is “how can we do it”?

As a matter of fact, I also wanted to talk to the child and ask about the people who were with her, But she ran so quickly and there was no time to talk!!!

Lot of social service is being showcased to deal with child & women problems, but still these networks are active. It’s a complete network running across the local markets, shopping complex, and in each and every location of the city. This is a very vast network and we really need people to come forward to eliminate these immune and fearless people from the society!!!

A very strange incident and an unforgettable experience I can never forget in my life!!
